HOW WE TREAT SPORTS INJURIES
Arthroscopic Meniscectomy
Arthroscopic meniscectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat a torn meniscus cartilage in the knee. Only the torn segment of the meniscus is removed.
The surgeon will inspect the entire inside of the knee to identify the tear and also to check for any other damage. The torn fragment is then cut free and removed. The edge of the remaining meniscus is then shaved smooth. The knee is then re-inspected to make sure there are no other abnormal findings. Finally the knee is washed out to remove any tiny particles that may be floating around.
