Mr. Alberto Gregori
Alberto gained his MB ChB in 1982. In 1985, he started training in Orthopaedics in Norwich, then worked as a Trauma Surgeon in Beirut. He returned to formal training in Edinburgh as a registrar then as a registrar and senior registrar in Orthopaedics in the West of Scotland. He was appointed as a Consultant to Hairmyres and Stonehouse Hospitals in June 1997 where he is presently Deputy Clinical Director. He is a visiting consultant at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital.
Alberto's main interests are in Prosthetic Knee Surgery and Trauma
reconstruction. Enjoying a long association with navigation and computer
assisted orthopaedic surgery, he designed commercially available instruments
for Minimally Invasive Navigated Knee Surgery and is a recognised expert on
the subject. Alberto has published extensively in the peer-reviewed literature as
well as lecturing internationally on the subject. He has also researched and
published on Osteoporosis and fracture prevention and hip fracture. He is
presently vice Chair of the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit.
